Special Events

Special Events ... are held by the Children’s Task Force throughout the year to promote our mission of strengthening families. We do this by providing low and no cost activities that foster attachment between parent and child in a positive environment. Below you will find some of our regularly scheduled events and pictures from previous years. Check our site often for updates and upcoming events.
Children’s Festival ... fun for all ages held the first weekend of February vacation at UMF. This free family event helps to relieve cabin fever with music, magic, movement, hands on activites and a low cost food court click here for more photos	Upcoming Events ... Father Daughter Dance ... time together in March. This annual event has become so popular that there are now 2 dances on the same night, one in Jay and one in Phillips.	April is Child Abuse Prevention Month ... raising awareness of the effects of child abuse while promoting positive family interactions. This month highlights the partnership between law enforcement, the State of Maine and the local Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Councils. Here in Franklin County a free Pancake Breakfast is provided for families at the Homestead Bakery and is hosted by the FCCTF and the Farmington Rotary.
Kid's Walk For Kids ... community support and fun in October. As FCCTF’s biggest annual fundraiser, teams of walkers gather pledges and walk or run on a course in downtown Farmington raising money to support the programs offered by the FCCTF. It is a chance for exercise, meet friends and have a fun. click here for more photos
